Journey Announces 45th-Anniversary Remaster of *Infinity* Featuring Previously Unreleased Live Tracks

26 October 2026

Journey’s 1978 breakthrough album *Infinity* marked a pivotal moment for the American rock band, introducing new frontman Steve Perry and launching their rise to international fame. 45 years later, the classic album gets a special anniversary release.

*Infinity* was Journey’s fourth studio recording, produced by Roy Thomas Baker at His Master’s Wheels in San Francisco and Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles during late 1977. Initially released on January 30, 1978 by Columbia Records, the album showcased the band's expanding musical talents.

The new edition features remastered audio plus rare live recordings. The In The Studio radio program will celebrate the anniversary with a special about the album’s lasting impact.

The tracklist tells part of the story. As 1977 ended, Journey stood poised for greater success—having built an audience, *Infinity* would propel them to wider recognition. The 36-minute album contains ten songs: “Lights,” “Feeling That Way,” “Anytime,” “La Do Da,” “Patiently,” “Wheel in the Sky,” “Somethin' to Hide,” “Winds of March,” “Can Do,” and “Opened the Door.” The single “Wheel in the Sky” arrived in March 1978.

*Infinity* debuted Steve Perry as Journey’s singer while being drummer Aynsley Dunbar’s final album with the group. It remains an essential bridge between the band’s eras—a status reinforced by its anniversary recognition.
