Journey Expands Farewell Tour with 40 New Arena Dates
03 November 2026
Journey's Final Frontier farewell tour is extending to an epic scale, with 40 additional North American arena dates announced for fall 2026. The classic rock band will now play into late November, wrapping up in San Francisco, nearly two years after the farewell run originally launched.
The tour's freshly announced leg opens September 12 in Los Angeles and runs through November 28, with stops in key markets like Seattle, Atlanta, Toronto, and Philadelphia. The schedule also includes return visits to cities like Chicago, Detroit, Boston, Cleveland, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, and Anaheim.
Presented by AEG Presents, the expanded tour gives fans in major arenas another chance to hear Journey's greatest hits, including "Don't Stop Believin'," "Any Way You Want It," and "Faithfully." Pollstar reports the band has been playing at least one deep cut per night, and Rolling Stone notes Journey is including a song from its 1975 debut album in the set.
The 40-city extension follows a mix of artist commentary that, while framed as a farewell, has been fueling the kind of "last chance" mania that often prolongs classic live acts. Drummer Deen Castronovo called the tour "golden" in a recent interview, hinting the run may continue past its expected November finale.
If so, that would extend a tradition for rock fan favorites to stretch planned farewell tours year after year, pushing them to unprecedented scales. Neil Diamond played a reported 170 concerts for his "World Tour" in the mid-1990s, later extended further, while other artists have announced multiple "final" tour legs.

"There is something about ending a tour that really brings an emotional finality to a time, and we're living it," Journey singer Arnel Pineda said of the earlier part of the band's current live run in a 2025 interview.
Speaking about the tour's growing size, Neal Schon, the band's lead guitarist, said in May 2026: "Where it pauses, we're not sure, but we're grateful for the opportunity, the hunger, the wild appetite to tour. It's alive, and we're doing this for ourselves as much as anything else."
With multiple legs added in 2026 after wrapping the first scheduled dates, the tour is expected to surpass 100 performances from its opening stretch that began in Hershey in February 2026. The current schedule lists 26 dates before the new leg begins and 41 after, with additional expansion possible.
